Depending on your plan, your account has a trial allowance or account credit. Both pay for orders, but they work differently.
Trial allowance | Account credit | |
|---|---|---|
Plan | Free trial (Test account) | Pre-pay |
Where it comes from | Given to every new account | Your card top-ups |
Where you see it | The bar at the top of the page, and Account details | The top of the page next to |
When it ends | When you choose a payment plan, or on the valid until date | It doesn’t expire |
Refunds | Can’t be refunded or transferred | Unspent credit isn’t paid back to your card |
Post-pay accounts have neither: you order first and we invoice you every 2 weeks. See Pay an invoice.
See your account credit
Your available credit shows at the top of every page, next to Top up. For the full view, select your name in the top-right corner to open Account details. Under Plan & billing, you see your plan and your Available credit.

Plan and billing shows your plan and available credit.
When your credit runs low
Top up before you submit an order that costs more than your available credit. See Top up your account and Why can’t I place an order?.
Your trial allowance doesn’t carry over
When you choose a plan, any trial allowance you haven’t used ends. It isn’t added to your account credit.
